After reading too many reviews

I read too many reviews before buying this robot. That’s not an exaggeration. At some point, I wasn’t even sure what I was looking for anymore. Every product seemed to have supporters and critics, and the more I read, the harder it became to decide.
What stood out in reviews of other robots was how emotional the feedback was. Some people loved them at first and then quickly got frustrated. Others felt disappointed because the robot didn’t behave the way they imagined it would. That made me realize how dangerous expectations can be.
This robot didn’t trigger strong emotional reactions in reviews. Most people described it as stable, predictable, or simply “fine.” At first, that didn’t sound very appealing. But the more I thought about it, the more it made sense.
When I finally started using it, I understood why people described it that way. There were no big moments, no surprises. The robot behaved the same way every time. Voice recognition worked within clear limits, and responses followed a pattern.
That pattern became familiar quickly. And once it did, the interaction stopped feeling like testing and started feeling like using. There’s a difference between those two states, and many products never reach the second one.
I realized that I didn’t need the robot to be impressive. I needed it to be reliable. After weeks of use, that reliability hasn’t changed.
In hindsight, reading so many reviews helped me avoid disappointment. This robot didn’t promise more than it could deliver, and that honesty is probably its strongest feature.
